Originally, I came up with the idea having a page on the site that would host the things we write that aren’t criticism or essays. Then I decided that I would expand the page to include pictures of the little arts and crafts; my thinking being that my sincere attempts to make something artistic might be kind of funny, especially considering the fair bit of time I waste in these doomed efforts. I also find the end results kind of funny, because while a kind person might say that I tend towards the whimsical, the more honest assessment is that I tend to make things that look like a rank and file children’s project.

But now that I’ve started putzing around with pants and whatnot, I realize this page should be a lot more than a gallery of my pathetic and earnest disasters. It should be a gallery of your pathetic and earnest disasters as well.

So if you’re like me – a hopeless maladroit who no artistic training or vision – and you frequent this site, I’m begging you to try your best to create something – a drawing, painting, sculpture, whatever – and send a picture in to yakmala@yahoo.com.
