I got this in the mail today. It’s a post card from the United States Postal Services reminding me that I should get some more stamps when I’m out. In fact, they even have a catchy little tag line to remind me of that: “U.S Postage Stamps. Be sure to get more when you’re out!” Personally, I question the logic behind a government agency advertising for a product in which they have an absolute monopoly. Especially since, well, when people need stamps they go get them. And when they don’t . . . well, they don’t. Plus, I hate “Cathy” and it annoys me that Cathy Guisewite just made more money being lame. But then again, I wasn’t too keen on the US Postal Service dropping god-knows-how-much on outfitting Lance Armstrong in his attempt to win the Tour de France. So, maybe I’m just an un-American curmudgeon who hates cancer survivors and you should just ignore me.
